If you live in Maryland and you are the person everyone else leans on, the one who answers the late email, remembers the birthdays, and quietly holds it all together, this is for you. From the Baltimore area to the DC suburbs, the clients I work with tend to be capable, self-aware, and quietly exhausted.

Trauma is not always one big event. Sometimes it is years of being the strong one, of learning that your needs come last, of a nervous system that never quite got the message that it is safe to rest. That is the work we do together, gently, at a pace that you can handle.

The work

How I help clients heal

Trauma-focused therapy

We gently work with the experiences your body still carries, at a pace that you can handle.

A strengths-based approach

You're not a list of problems to fix. We build on the resilience that's already gotten you this far.

Nervous-system regulation

You'll learn to recognize and settle the anxiety, over-alertness, and shutdown underneath the overthinking.

Boundary work

Together we practice saying no, asking for what you need, and letting other people carry their own feelings.

Seeing the pattern

We name the relational loops you keep landing in, so you can finally choose something different.

Tools that work

Together we identify coping strategies that actually work for you, and find ways to put them to use in your life.

Statewide by video

A trauma therapist for anyone in Maryland

I work with clients throughout Maryland by secure video, from the Baltimore area to the Montgomery County suburbs and everywhere in between.

Because sessions are virtual, you can work with me from anywhere in Maryland, whether you live in a major city, a suburb, or a rural area. What matters is that you're physically inMaryland at the time of our session.

Fees & insurance

Insurance & fees for Maryland clients

I'm in-network with Aetna, Optum, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford for Maryland clients. If you have one of these plans, your sessions may be largely covered, and we can verify your benefits together so you'll know what sessions will cost.

Prefer to pay privately? That's welcome too.

  • $145 per 50-minute session.
  • Out-of-network benefits may apply, and many clients get partial reimbursement.
  • I provide a superbill on request to submit to your insurer.

If you would rather not involve insurance, private pay keeps your care entirely between us: no diagnosis on file with an insurer, no third party deciding how long we work together.

Who you'd be working with

I'm Ashley, a licensed trauma therapist serving Maryland and two other states by telehealth. I work with high-functioning individuals who are quietly exhausted from holding it all together, warmly and at your pace, building on what's already strong in you.

Questions

Online therapy in Maryland: your questions answered

How does online therapy work?

We meet by secure, HIPAA-compliant video at a scheduled time, just as we would in an office, only you join from wherever you feel most comfortable and private. You get a link, click it at your appointment time, and we talk. Most people find it feels natural within the first few minutes.

Is telehealth therapy actually effective?

Yes. Research consistently finds that virtual therapy is comparable to in-person care for anxiety, depression, and trauma. For many people it is actually easier to open up from their own space, and removing the commute makes it far more sustainable to keep going.

Can I work with you if I live in a different city than you?

Absolutely. Because sessions are virtual, you can work with me from anywhere in Maryland, Virginia, or Utah: a major city, a quiet suburb, or a rural area. What matters is that you are physically located in one of the states where I am licensed at the time of our session.

Is virtual therapy secure and private?

Yes. Sessions are held over secure, HIPAA-compliant video. I ask that you join from a private space where you won't be overheard, and I treat everything we discuss with the same confidentiality as in-person care.

Do you take insurance?

It depends on your state. In Maryland I'm in-network with Aetna, Optum, United Healthcare, Oscar, and Oxford. In Utah I'm in-network with Aetna, Optum, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you're using insurance we can verify your benefits together, so you'll know what sessions will cost. If you're paying out of pocket, you can check with your insurer before we get started to get an idea of what they'll cover. In Virginia I work on a private-pay basis and can provide a superbill you submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What are your rates?

My fee is $145 for a 50-minute session, and the first 15-minute consultation is free. If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill on request.

Not in Maryland?

I also see clients across Virginia and Utah.
